The first thing you will interact with is the water temperature – it’s cold! Fortunately so.
It was so hot on the day of our visit that diving into those cold waters felt like a dream come true. If you like grabbing a bite, you can enjoy lunch at the on-site restaurant. Alternatively, you can bring a sandwich or any snack in your backpack.
Remember, however, to be extremely clean and leave no waste behind. We must keep nature pristine.
Visiting Cenote Palomitas is about experiencing adrenaline-filled adventures, as the place offers various activities where you can put your courage to the test.

Upon paying the entrance fee to the Cenote, we were informed that it included a life vest for safety in the water as the Cenote is quite deep, and swimming without one could be risky if you’re not a strong swimmer.
However, rest assured there’s always someone monitoring the swimmers to ensure nothing goes wrong – let’s call him “the rescuer,” who’s ready to help in any situation.
A peculiar feature you’ll notice upon entering the Cenote is a series of ropes marking out the swimming area. This is to ensure that you can swim comfortably within these zones.
If you’re visiting with your family and have small children, we recommend putting life vests on them without fail. This way, they can swim fearlessly in the water and stay safe.
Kayak Rental
Add a sporty touch to your visit or relax by renting a kayak to navigate the Cenote with a family member, alone, or with your partner.
Does the entrance fee also cover kayak rental?
We regret to tell you it doesn’t but don’t be discouraged. The additional cost is only 50 pesos (about 2.50 dollars) for 30 minutes of exploring and exercising your arms.
We tried it and assured you it’s a fun experience that adds an adrenaline rush to your trip since you’re in control. After doing it, we decided to rest in the water, which became our favourite moment.
